"When I got back to school from learning how to braid hair in Kenya, I also decided it was going to be my side hustle. I was going to make some money braiding people’s hair. So I went through the great trouble of creating a poster but I just didn’t have the heart to charge anyone so my friends would make appointments with me and I would spend the weekend braiding their hair, and I just couldn’t charge them so I never made any money from it."Lupita Nyong’o for Vogue [x].

“Potter has done too much for me for me to ever want to shit all over it. I’m never going to say: ‘Don’t ask me questions about that’. I remember reading an interview with Robert Smith from The Cure. Somebody said to him: ‘Why do you still wear all that makeup, don’t you feel a bit past it?’ And he said: ‘There are still 14-year-olds coming to see The Cure for the first time, dressed like that. I’d never want to make them feel silly.’ It’s a similar thing with Potter. People are still discovering those books and films. It would be awful for them to find out the people involved had turned their backs on it. Though sometimes, people do come up and say ‘I loved you in The Woman in Black,’ which is really sweet. That’s them knowing that it matters to me that I’ve done other stuff.”

“Chris Evans, he’s actually just a very, very sensitive guy. You don’t notice that immediately because he’s so muscular and strong. But he’s actually very delicate. You have to approach him very carefully and almost protect him as you work. He’s an extremely intelligent guy. And he also looks at a film from the director’s point of view. He’s also a director. So sometimes he’s just very, very focused and into the scene as an actor…But then other times he’ll [step] 10 feet back and see the whole situation as a director and come up with ideas or give his input. So he had this interesting way of going in really, really deep then also being able to step back.”

"The first time I had sex, I raced home and was like, ‘Mom, I just had sex! Where’s the clit?’"
